Several times a year Blue Engine Fellows, along with AmeriCorps members throughout the country, will have the opportunity to lead and/or participate in community service projects celebrating national Days of Service.
- The September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance
- Make a Difference Day (late October)
- Martin Luther King, Jr., Day of Service (mid-January)
- Cesar Chavez Day of Service and Learning (March 31)
- Global Youth Service Day (several days during the third week of April)
Fellows may participate in existing community service projects or plan and lead new projects that will benefit their host school or neighborhood — inviting students, community members, other Blue Engine Fellows, and area AmeriCorps members to take part.
Getting involved with the Days of Service will offer you additional opportunities to positively impact your community in new ways, build new skills, work with new people, and develop a deeper appreciation of the value of service.
