Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for the Blue Engine Fellowship:
- Bachelor’s Degree. You must have received your bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university by the first day of Blue Engine’s summer training institute in August.
- 2.50 Minimum GPA (undergrad). You must have a cumulative 2.50 GPA on a 4.00 scale from an accredited college or university at the time we receive your application.
- Service History. You must have served no more than a one-year term in another AmeriCorps, NCCC, or VISTA program. So, if you have served for a year or less (including not having done a year of service), you are eligible to apply to become a Blue Engine Fellow. If you have served for more than a year, please check with us before applying – your AmeriCorps benefits may be affected
- US Citizenship or National / Permanent Resident Status
- Teaching certificates NOT required to become a Blue Engine Fellow
- Fellows must be cleared through background and security checks prior to beginning their year of service
