My teacher used individualized instruction to create the circumstances for me to feel like my way of learning was valued and that I had autonomy as a learner to learn the way I needed to.
What is your unique genius? How do you bring it to your work at Blue Engine?
I bring to our work a love of understanding and connecting with people. I am an introvert by nature so I truly enjoy listening to others, understanding perspectives, and making connections. This serves me well on my role of coaching and developing our coaches and supporting them to support teams of educators in classrooms.
Describe a time that you experienced individualization as a student?
My senior year of high school I took a course titled “Humanities” and had the opportunity to choose the different artists we studied in the different genres, eras, and mediums of art we studied. We had choice in how we represented our knowledge. It was one of the first times I could be truly leverage learning socially, being creative, and authentically curious.
