Mr. Miller’s ability to see each student as an individual with unique strengths and interests (and create roles accordingly) enabled every single student to contribute, to feel successful, and to learn in the process.
Describe a time that you experienced individualization as a student?
In Mr. Miller’s fifth grade class, we produced a weekly recap of the world news for the entire school each Friday. While only 1-2 students got to be the “news anchors” each week, everyone had a unique role to play in the production (everything from researching the stories to writing the script to choosing which final stories made the cut). Roles weren’t assigned solely based on academic data, but Mr. Miller’s ability to see each student as an individual with unique strengths and interests (and create roles accordingly) enabled every single student to contribute, to feel successful, and to learn in the process.
What do you love about working at Blue Engine?
Above all else, I love my teammates. Every day I get to learn something new or have my thinking pushed by a collection of thoughtful, dedicated, and compassionate human beings.
